FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

March 18, 2010 – Los Angeles, CA: Award winning hair stylist and contestant on Bravo’s “Shear Genius 3,” Faatemah joins countless celebrities by posing for the infamous silent protest, NOH8Campaign.

The NOH8 Campaign is a photographic silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8 (Prop 8). Proposition 8 (or the California Marriage Protection Act) was a ballot proposition and constitutional amendment passed in the November 2008, state elections. The measure added a new provision, Section 7.5 of the Declaration of Rights, to the California Constitution. The new section reads: “Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.” Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by Prop 8 and similar legislation around the world, with “NOH8” painted on one cheek in protest.

“I was honored to be able to pose for NoH8,” says Faatemah in a recent interview. “It was amazing working with Adam, especially for something so powerful! I think everyone deserves the choice. And like I always say, I am just a gay man trapped in a woman’s body!”
